 Re: So Glock vs M&P
Aww, .40? Geeze. I'll try to remain as objective as I can. I have a Glock 17. I fricking love it. Seriously. Just a sec.... Ok better. Like I said. Fan of the glock. It's a tank. The big question would be, do you do your own reloading, and if you do, do you use cast bullets? If the answer is no, to either of those questions, I'd say go glock. If the answer is yes to both of those questions, you might want to look at the S&W. I do plan on testing out the glock on lead, but conventional wisdom says your not supposed to. I don't have an M&P so I can't comment on that.

 Re: So Glock vs M&P
Don't sound like a jackass he says after the great 1911vs glock s*** show at USS. naw man I am squared away lol. I say get a glock. you can't mess with perfection, plus you can pick them up cheaper. The few mods you may want to to them are cheap and the best one come from Glock themselves. If you need to run cast boolits you can get a barrel to handle that I picked up my G22c for 350 otd. It had less than 500 rds ran thru it as it was a cop's gun and most cops don't mess with their guns unless they have to. I got mine locally at KEEPRS. I had a G22 second gen that I turned into a racegun and didn't shoot it much in the past couple years, couldn't carry it, and cussed at it every time I saw it. So I sold it to buy a 1911, but then needed the profit money for bills and to keep my children fed. So i got the G22c. gen3 the next day. I love shooting that thing. hell, I am gonna put it on as soon as I get off work. If you are getting a brand new gun, you could honestly go either way, but do yourself a favor. Go to a gun range that rents them and shoot both to see if you would like better. if you don't like either, just go buy a ton of .45 and get the parts to start modding that 1911 of yours. turn that thing into a ripper! If you don't know what to get, PM me, I can point you in the right direction

The Glock 22 is my weapon of choice tons of sights, rigs, parts, and accessories. I don't think its any better than the m&p just more common.

 Re: So Glock vs M&P
I'd get a Glock because the M&P is a little uglier.

Haha. What!? Beauty ís in the eye of the beholder. I think Glocks are ugly and I don't like the grip angle. M&P is the best feeling gun I have ever held/shot. Do like Gun said and see if you can shoot both. I think you will fall in love with one or the other.

 Re: So Glock vs M&P
Best glock deal out there. You will find holster wear on em, and some of the trijicons may be dim or wore out. you can replace tijicons individually if you want and if you really want to refinish it, you can send the slide to a duracoater, do it yourself, or send it in to lone wolf of glock for the factory finish. Just don't use paint, it ain't a Hi Point. the tennifer is tough as nails though. try to stick with that. If it's a carry gun, you are gonna have holster wear anyway so I wouldn't bother. Just keep it clean and fed. Better than owning a pet right?

f***ing pistols are ugly. If pretty is your only concern get a f***ing cap and ball revolver.

 Re: So Glock vs M&P
I think glocks are ugly, in a way. i think a lot of guns are ugly. but looks don't really matter to me. i want stuff that works.
i don't think the M&P has the long history to point to as a good pistol. it's still relatively new. and I like the overall simplicty of the glock. cuz, well, I'm a simple kind of man. lol

 Re: So Glock vs M&P
With very few exceptions and manufacturing errors, pretty much all modern firearms are going to work. What matters are your priorities. To draw an analogy with cars. The Glock would be akin to: While the S&W M&P would be: The both function, for essentially ever, and are wonderful appliances. Personally, I wouldn't consider them "pretty". They are functional. Same with the Glock and the S&W. They are wonderful self defense appliances. I don't think a person would be wrong for choosing either of them. Especially as a primary. The cars will function reliably as transportation, and get decent gas mileage while doing so. They're going to have ac and all the new little fangled gagets that the automakers can stick on there. The guns are going to have high cap mags, function reliably, be light weight, and easy to maintain. A revolver on the other hand, is more akin to: You may or may not have ac. It's not going to have blue tooth, sat nav, back up warning sensors, or anything similar to an onstar system. It's going to have crappy gas mileage. But, it will go fast, and look good doing so. No apologies, no concessions, it's a car. A revolver is not going to have massive capacity, an accessory rail, and while the general maintenance is going to be a breeze, anything indepth is going to take it out of service and probably take the better part of a weekend to bring it up again. A cap and ball revolver is going to be akin to: Once a dedicated family vehicle, it is now only for show. You don't use it to get anywhere, you use it to have fun. Just like guns, I think cars in recent years have departed from their actual purpose. They've instead focused on how much extra stuff they can tack on. Which is good, to a point. A 18 or 20 round magazine capacity is arguably better than a 5 or 6. 35 mpg is better than 12. How much of the extra crap do you want. When is enough to make the change from a car to a transportation appliance, and when is enough to make the change from a gun to a self defense appliance? I think cars are already there, and guns are getting real close.

I'm just saying, there are so many different opinions out there, of course mine is the right one, but everyone else, though wrong, is entitled to their own opinions........

I drive the modern version of a '74 datsun. It's not pretty, but it works just fine. I don't remember what we were talking about.
Anyways I don't care too much how it looks I just want it to work, cars, guns, women.
