Re: the 2012 rush has begun? I was at a very popular LGS yesterday (Jensens's). These guys jam a ton of rifles on their racks and have a huge stock room. I rarely even see an empty spot on the rack. They normaly have a whole wall of AR's.... Yesterday they were down to maybe 15 of them! Tons of empty space. I heard one of the employees on the phone answering questions about what they had in stock, he replied, "Yep we have 2 of those left. And if you want one you better get here is fast as you can." They have very good prices but there was no sale going on or anything like that. Yeah, the rush has started...............

There is a buzz on other forums as well. People are starting to buy s*** up lickity split. I was at my LGS (Elk Bomb) again today and she said "Its crazy, stuff is off the shelf the minute I put it up. We are busier than we ever have been." Just wait until gas is $5 a gallon and the election is in full swing............. _________________

Re: the 2012 rush has begun? I hit the LGS yesterday after taking my 11 year old son to the range. I was picking up some primers and projectiles. As I was standing in the aisle, drooling at all the reloading porn, a guy next to me says.. "picking up primers?", I looked at him and replied, "yeah" .. he then said "you and everyone else my man". We got to talking, he's a cool guy, but it did just reinforce that people are beginning to stock up.
I figure I might as well load up just so I don't run out of normal supply as I shoot on a regular basis. I am however adding more defensive ammo to my loading stockpile for 9mm right now. I've been buying up Hornady XTP both 124, & 147 grain JHPs. I want to have at least 500 on standby along with my normal 1200+ FMJ stockpile. It's addicting as hell to reload, but now 'm even more glad I got into it, because I'm picking up brass for all calibers at the range, and all I need to do is buy a couple more die sets to really be in a good position for anything... _________________ --

Anywho. LGS is telling everyone to buy what they can now. Glad I got my .22 pistol out the way along with my new Compact .45. Some of you may have seen them at the USSF.. I will post pics here. I am going to go buy more reloading supplies this weekend. unless I can get out sooner.. |
