Bomber's post on USS about reloading finally pushed me over the edge. I picked up a Lee 50th Anniversary Kit yesterday. Scheels had it for just under a Benjamin. I also picked up some Unique and some primers. I went with the Lee 9mm Carbide Four Die Deluxe set. Mules from USS is sending me some of his LRN. I deprimed and re-sized about 400+ 9mm last night. Good stuff. I really enjoyed that s***. Now, I just gotta order some more bullets or look around locally. I will say one thing, that Lee Safety (read: b****) scale is really a b**** to get accurate. I may pick up a digital scale off of Amazon soon too.

Yeah, that Lee scale isn't worth the magnet inside of it. It's really hard to keep a zero on it and it's an absolute pain in the c*** to measure powder on it. I went with a digital scale too that I picked up form my LGS. I don't know the model but will post it later when I get home from work.

Also, I've been using unique as well, and the "perfect powder measure" from Lee I find myself recalibrating constantly. Not sure if it's operator error, a bum product or just a lemon. But overall I am happier than a pig in s*** when reloading. Welcome to the club...

Some tips on the perfect powcer measure.

- run at least a pound of powder through it, just to get everything coated so the powder doesnt "stick" to the sides.

-Most importantly, when you move the lever up to drop the powder in, tap right by the lever three times. Then when you push the lever down to drop the powder, tap 3 more times. Its a bit of a pain but should give you very consistant results.

What kind of handle you got on that press edub? My press didn't come with the handle it was pictured with and I got that retarded looking ergo handle.

I just ordered that digital scale you got there. I tried messing with the Lee scale today so I can prepare my mind for actually loading some rounds and it was god damn f***ing impossible to keep that scale from moving so I'm probably not even going to f*** with it if I can keep myself from throwing it through the window. I had to add a Glock bench mat to round out the order for free super saver shipping.

I used, or I should say tried to use, that lee scale once. The next day I brought a digital scale home from the shop. Now that lee just sits on the shelf, in the box, collecting dust.

I've had one of those harbor freight calipers for years. Accuracy has always been fine, only problem I've had is keeping batteries in the thing for some reason. I think what's happening is when I put it back in the case it's pushing on the on off switch and running the battery dead.
