El Bombadero, since you inspired me... Adjusting the clutch
Alright man to get the play out of your pedal, go under your dash. follow your clutch pedal to a rod that goes into the firewall. you will notice it's threaded. you should be able to turn it by hand to make it longer. the adjustment nut will stop you from turning it the other way. slowly turn it till you only have about 1/4"-3/8" of play. now, take it for a drive and make sure the clutch isn't grabbing with the pedal released. try thay and see what's up.
Also, take a peek at your clutch hydraulic fluid level(brake fluid). make sure it it is full and fairly clean. If dude who owned it before you replaced the clutch, he should have bled the system (never f***ing happens). you should bleed the system to ensure there is no air in the lines as well as get fresh fluid in there.

Did you ever get a chance to look at your clutch?

no, i'm a lazy asshole but the problem does seem to be getting better gradually. i haven't had any trouble going into any of the forward gears for quite awhile now. reverse is still 50/50 though. by the wya, the big leak was power steering fluid. got a new pump put in and fixed a broken CV boot. my mechanic is awesome. those two things and an oil change was only $500. now i have a very small oil leak in the front and a very small leak of something else in the back, not sure what it is.
