Apparently this news is already a little old. But I’m gonna write about it anyway. ATI has released an updated version of its aftermarket stock for the Hi Point 995 Carbine. In case you don’t know, Hi Point has been making their 995 9mm carbine since about the mid nineties. It used to look like this:

Pretty fucking ugly, right?

ATI has been selling an aftermarket stock for quite awhile now. It runs about $70 to $80. It looks like this:

Even fucking uglier.

About a year or so ago, Hi Point released an updated version of their own stock and called it the TS (Tactical Stock). It had what the original stock lacked, accessory rails. While the ATI stock had limited rail space, it had more than the classic stock did, which is why a lot of people bought it. Some people bought it for the look, but they are retarded and shouldn’t be considered in this equation. The TS stock added both features and a superior look and feel to the carbine, and was well received in the Hi Point fan circles (myself being one of them). Here is the TS:

Pretty fucking cool, right?

Now, ATI just came out with an updated version of their piece of shit stock. Incredibly, it manages to look worse than the original, while not providing any changes that warrant its design over the new TS:

Seriously, this thing looks fucking stupid.

As if that weren’t bad enough, the goddamn thing costs $178. The 995TS costs around $240 brand new.

ATI, you done fucked up. You know that, right?

GFE just wrapped up its first contest on our Forum. It wasn’t a blockbuster success, but for one of our esteemed members, Crocop, there was a free brand new holster, courtesy of our new (though small) product line.

This was the first of hopefully many contests that we will be holding on GFE. We are going to start slow and pick up the pace as we get more new members. We are also soliciting ideas for contests and prizes here. As soon as we get some kinks worked out, we should be debuting t-shirts, hats and stickers. We are currently making plans for our next contest which will probably kick off at the end of May or the first of June.

Remember, you can’t win if you don’t play!

The good folks at GreyGroupTraining are hosting a kick ass photo collection. What kind of photo collection?

One word: Faggots-

-Wait, I meant “Training”.

.25 acp is for faggots.

With the NRA convention in Pittsburg this week, there seem to be a slew of new guns….well, maybe I should say “old” guns. Well maybe not “old” guns, but……ah fuck it. Look, a bunch of established manufacturer’s are offering new models of their popular platforms in .22 caliber. The benefit to this is that you get to practice with a full sized weapon that looks, feels and operates just like your carry weapon, only instead of 20 to 40 cents per round, its more like 2 to 4 cents per round.

Some of these guns have been on the market for a little while, but as I was cruising the interwebs I started to notice them in bunches. So I’m going to catalogue some of the coolest ones here.

First up, the popular platform that seems to be poised to take the place of the AR/M4 style weapon is the FN SCAR battle rifle. This rifle is slowly becoming more popular as it continues to gain market share among heavy hitting rifle enthusiasts. ISSC Austria has introduced the MSR Mk22 Rifle. It’s a full sized copy available in .22, for a very reasonable price as well, coming in at about $570.

Be the baddest motherfucker on the line with this FN SCAR copy

Next is the hugely popular Kel Tec PF9, the pocket pistol that doesn’t make you bitch out to .380 in order to actually put it in your pocket. TwistedIndustries is now offering a .22 conversion kit for this fine little weapon. The downside is the price, coming in at $199 which is more than 60% of the original price of the gun itself. However, if you really plan on getting serious with practice, you could easily spend that much on 9mm ammo within a couple of months.

Small enough to ram up someone's ass

Another exciting addition to the .22lr family is the Smith and Wesson M&P22. Based on the full sized M&P9, this .22 gives you a full sized training weapon from a solid and trusted manufacturer. This weapon will probably be a serious competitor to the Walther P22. And with a 12 round magazine, it gives you more trigger time than the Walther’s 10 round mag. Price point is about $420, not unreasonable if the weapon is as solid as the rest of the M&P line.

Gangsta

And finally to round out this catalogue is the new Sig Sauer 1911 .22. There are other 1911 style .22′s, but really none with brands that carry the reputation of a Sig. And one of the huge bonuses of this new model is a threaded barrel, ready for some deadly assassin fun. The .22 Sig is a great addition to your arsenal and for once, you can actually afford one.

Now you can blast your Sig all day long

This is you.....Right before you shoot the motherfucker

Well here’s what you don’t do…..run. Some poor bastard in Tennessee found that out the hard way.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was shot in the back Sunday night as he attempted to run from robbers in northwest Nashville.

The victim was outside a home on 23rd Avenue North when a black Saturn allegedly pulled up beside him. Two passengers were inside.

Police said one of the passengers got out of the car and asked the victim for his money.

The victim said he started running, and as he was trying to get away, he was shot in the upper back near his shoulder.

The shooting happened just before 12 Midnight. The victim suffered non life-threatening injuries and was expected to recover.

The suspect was described as being six feet tall and heavy set.

There are lots of people that try to tell you what to do when getting mugged. Truthfully, unless you’re highly trained, you’re probably just going to do whatever comes naturally, whether that is fighting, running, shooting back or whatever. But there are a lot of people out there who will go to great lengths to learn shit like this –

This works for anyone, but is especially good for women to use: If someone grabs you by your hair, don’t try to peel their hands off. I know, sounds weird, but here’s what you do: clap your hands on *top* of the one on your hair and hang on tight. Kick out at them to distract them, then with your hands still clamped to your head, start turning in a clockwise direction, under the attacker’s arm. Do it fast enough and with enough force, and you’ve broken a wrist. Or at least made your attacker hurt like stink. Then run and call the police.

Second: The “Secret Service” move. This works on 90 percent of all people. Take your index and middle fingers and push them into the hollow of your attacker’s throat. In most people, this will immediately activate their gag reflex and they will back away automatically. Again, run and call the police.

- but won’t even consider carrying a firearm with them. There is a reason that muggers chose people like you. Because you are weak. You project a weak image. And when you take bullshit classes about defending against a mugger, you aren’t fooling yourself. You are still weak. You know that class was bullshit. But when you decide to get serious about defending yourself and you pack heat, you are changing the way you look at the situation. You are giving yourself a chance to win, and I believe that it shows.

But that’s just me. If you want to trust your local PD to take care of you, be my guest.

A forward thinking 8 year old decided to get into the lucrative arms trade this past week when he sold his daddy’s pistol to a classmate for about tree fitty.

NEW YORK: An eight-year-old schoolboy here sold his father’s loaded gun to a classmate for $3.50, officials said.

The boy, a third-grader , took the gun from the top of a shelf where his father had hidden it. There were three live rounds in the illegal 9-mm pistol when the boy took it to his school in Flushing and sold it to a classmate.

A senior police said the gun’s serial number had been scratched off. “The whole idea of a second-or third-grader carrying a loaded firearm into a crowded school and selling it is very disturbing on so many levels,”[emphasis added] Queens District Attorney Richard Brown was quoted as saying.

Not as disturbing as letting a perfectly good weapon go for such a low price.

The mother of the buying party, Deanna Zeitner, stated that she didn’t blame the child, she blamed the parent. Rightly so. However the school doesn’t see it this way, and actually suspended the 8 year old purchaser for having a gun on school grounds. This is the world we are living in.

Winchester has debuted an update to their online Ballistics calculator. Basically, you can see the ballistic profiles of the most popular calibers and loads. The calculator is fully interactive and you can layer up to 5 calibers and loads over a set of parameters such as distance, wind, temperature, etc.

Get your nerd on

Its a gun nerd’s wet dream, offering up scientific results on all kinds of comparative data. Blah blah blah….. Basically its a way to continue to argue silly shit about calibers, loads and effective ranges. And its fun to fuck around with.

Ruger SR1911

El Bombardero —  April 21, 2011 — Leave a comment

Well, after 100 years Ruger has finally gotten into the 1911 game. Good thing too, because there really aren’t enough other manufacturers making this weapon.

Apparently there are a lot of people who feel like this is a big deal, but I kinda think that the market is saturated enough with this model. Every variation you could want is already available at a huge range of prices. But since some people want to be excited about this, I decided I might as well throw it up here.

wow.....another 1911

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a 1911, and Ruger is certainly a fine firearm manufacturer. I’m just not sure what they are trying to accomplish by stretching themselves into this market. To me, if you are going to jump into the 1911 game, you better be bringing something really exciting and different. This weapon just doesn’t appear to have that. I’m sure there are a few diehard Ruger fans that have been waiting for this moment for a long time. But it doesn’t really seem that this is going to change the game.
