The GFE blog has been neglected recently, and for you three or four people who actually read it, I apologize.
But the Holy Trinity has not been idle. We have all been doing our own projects within the community and for ourselves. Some of those projects have been aimed at actually accomplishing some meaningful progress within our communities and hopefully on a grander scale as well.
Some quick background to lay the scene for you guys. As you all know, after the Newtown shooting the country went Gun Control apeshit rather quickly. One of the casualties of this bullshit was the gun laws in Colorado.
Prior to our disastrous legislative session this past Spring, Colorado enjoyed some of the most liberal gun laws in the country. In fact our laws were better than the laws in Texas, though few know that.
As most of you know, Colorado lost some of those important rights in a hard fought battle in our State legislature. Outside money from Mayor Fucktardberg in New York, as well as personal phone calls from Vice President Biteme to legislators who were on the fence helped get the laws passed despite enormous resistance from the citizens of our fine state.
The result was a ban on any new transfers of magazines over 15 rounds, background checks on all private firearms sales, and requiring gun purchasers to pay a fee for all background checks. We the citizens tried to resist. We held protests, attended every legislative session, called our representatives, wrote letters and emails, attended every legislative hearing, blogged, tweeted, facebooked, bitched, moaned, boycotted and other actions I won’t mention. In the end, it didn’t work. None of it worked because it wasn’t a fair fight. The legislative process was highjacked.
Colorado was used by the White House to gain momentum in the debate. They knew that if they could get this pro-gun state to flip to the dark side, they could claim a national victory. Well Fuck Them. We are still not laying down. This fight is not over, and let me show you how.
Juan A Be is an NRA certified instructor. He became certified sometime last year and I was with him as he taught his first class. He looked like a virgin on prom night, all cramped up and painfully wincing in front of the students. But he has come a long way.
He has been spending his own time and money to conduct 100% free conceal carry classes around the state. One of his first free classes happened right on the CU Colorado Springs campus. His mission is to give as many people in Colorado every thing he can to make sure they can arm themselves. In Colorado, the class typically runs around $100 per person. I can tell you that for me personally that that was not a financial burden I was ever willing to pay to exercise my Constitutional right to bear arms.
Offering the class for free is Juan A Be’s revolutionary act. While the class is free to the students, it is not free for Juan A Be. Money comes out of his pocket every time he conducts the class. And the further he travels, including to the Western Slope (for those of you not from Colorado, that means a trip over the Rocky Mountains), the more money it costs him. He gains nothing from this act except the satisfaction that he is actually sacrificing something to stand up for the rights of our citizens. And I think his contribution has something to do with this dramatic rise in conceal carry permit seekers in Colorado.
In addition to offering these classes, Juan A Be also helped to coordinate an act of civil disobedience with another Colorado gun owner, Ryan Tuleja. On July 1st, the day that the new laws went into effect, Juan A Be, Ryan and about 60 other people gathered at the state capitol building and exchanged high capacity magazines. This was illegal. This is something that each one of those people risked arrest for. This is something that I personally have not seen anywhere else in this country. This is exactly the kind of courage that we should be seeing across this country, but it is lacking. To stand directly in front of law enforcement (who were in attendance keeping an eye on the demonstration) and break this unconstitutional law is a revolutionary act. It’s not retweeting, it’s not changing your goddamn Facebook icon, it’s not bitching and moaning on a forum. It’s having the courage of your convictions.
Meanwhile, El Bombardero has been doing his thing. He signed the petition to recall Senator John Morse. And when Morse’s campaign contacted him about retracting his signature, he told them to fuck off. In addition, he is holding a little contest in the same spirit as the magazine swap.
The contest speaks for itself, so I’m not going to spend much time talking about it.
It’s time to stand up. Maybe revolutionary acts like this one will inspire more, and real change can be accomplished in this country without the more revolutionary acts of using more persuasive means. Maybe we can turn the tide. It’s not just the gun laws. We have the NDAA, the NSA spying on every single American including Congress, the militarization of our police, the destruction of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments, the silencing of journalists, etc. The list goes on and on. Changing your Facebook icon, signing petitions, ranting on forums, fuming on your couch – none of that shit is going to accomplish anything. Join us, stand up for your rights, risk something, show the world your balls.
Didn’t imagine I’d see this gem on my Youtube feed
Check it out at 0:24, Mr. Keenan rockin a 3rd generation Smith. My personal favorite. Probably a .40, because everyone rocks that stupid caliber. But still, nice choice Maynard. Nice rifle too, I guess that’s what being a fuckin rock star will get you. Tell that to your high school guidance counselor.
If you don’t know who Maynard James Keenan is, go fuck yourself.
To me, it’s just as much an example of how mindless people are when they are out and about in public. But you can’t deny how obvious is that a lot of people out there don’t give a shit about the Constitution.
So in case you haven’t heard, Colorado is in the middle of a fight over our 2nd Amendment rights. Currently we are facing universal background checks, the end of campus carry, a fee for all background checks, and a limit on magazine size to 15 rounds.
Because of that last issue, popular magazine and AR parts manufacturer Magpul has threatened to leave the state if the bill passes. I applaud them for their commitment to the Constitution, and I support their decision to leave. Principles are important. Especially right now.
Over the last 72 hours since I have become aware of Magpul’s position, I have been working as hard as I can to raise awareness about what Colorado is facing. And I am using Magpul’s situation to highlight it, seeing as Magpul is probably the most well known manufacturer of AR magazines. It’s working, almost. People are aware now. Facebook is flooded with people commenting about it and directly to Magpul on their Facebook page.
I’m going to try to get through this without swearing in the hopes that those of you with narrow minds who can’t handle a swear word will be able to hear me.
Here’s the problem. Almost everyone who is voicing their support for Magpul’s position is missing the point. This fight in Colorado is not over, and we need support. Magpul does not want to leave. They like it here in Colorado. They picked this state because of it’s reputation for respecting freedom, including it’s firearm laws. Coloradan’s do not want them to leave. We love them here. We love their product, their jobs, their tax revenue and their support of local industry.
But everyone who hears about what is going on is saying, “We’d love to have you come to *fill in the blank state*.” Now I get it. Now I understand the frustration from gun owners in California and New York. They feel abandoned.
Friends, the answer is not to welcome a company like Magpul to your state when their convictions force them to leave their own. The answer is to fight the politicians tooth and nail so that companies like Magpul don’t need to leave in the first place.
Colorado is not a liberal state. We are a state that values freedom. We are a state that honors individual liberty. We are a gun loving state. We are an intelligent state. The people of Colorado are not demanding gun control. These bills are being railroaded through our state government despite the loud, vehement, constant and passionate resistance of it’s citizens. Colorado citizens are fighting this legislation and we are fighting hard. GFE has organized two rallies on the state capitol building. We are making phone calls, writing letters, attending hearings, speaking directly to the politicians, supporting companies like Magpul, getting on TV, getting into local newspapers, giving away free magazines, attending the House votes. We are doing everything we can.
But what are our pro gun friends outside of the state doing? Writing us off. I am shaking my head in anger in frustration when I read Facebook comments like these:
This is not how we win. This is not how we take the fight to the enemy. This is not how we preserve our rights. This, my friends, is how we lose.
If you would have told me 6 months ago that we would be facing this legislation in Colorado, I would not have believed you. I would have laughed in your face. People in states like Wyoming, Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee will laugh in your face now if you tell them that in the near future, they will be in the line of fire. This is how it happens, one state at a time.
The powers at work here are not native to this state. There is influence coming from outside our square borders. MAIG has hired a lobbying firm to push these laws through our legislature. Joe Biden personally called some Democrats in the Colorado House on Friday, and I’m sure they weren’t talking about hunting with shotguns.
I’m pleading with you, do not give up the fight here in Colorado just because it isn’t your state. We need your help and support. This is our hour of need. Make your words more than just empty rhetoric and actually do something to stand up for all of our rights. Just because a state faces these kinds of attacks doesn’t mean the people of that state are pussies who don’t care. Pick up the phone, get on Facebook, get on Twitter, contact representatives, spread the word, bring attention to these issues. If you’re not willing to fight now, I doubt your resolve to fight when the battle comes to your state.
United we stand.
This is according to the Washington Post:
Obama will begin this effort Wednesday in the presence of children who wrote him letters after last month’s mass shooting at a grade school in Newtown, Conn., and who have been invited to Washington to attend the rollout.
Ok, it doesn’t exactly say that, but I think the picture we can draw from this is pretty stark. Surrounding himself with children as he literally takes a Chipotle Barbacoa with extra hot sauce shit on the Constitution.
I hope you’re still calling your congressmen and women, sending emails and getting the message out.
Here’s the basic details:
Show up at your state’s capitol at 12 noon local time on January 19th prepared to use your 1st Amendment right to support your 2nd Amendment right, before we have to do it the other way around.
As much as it pains me to do this, I have to link this video from Nutnfancy. Please watch the whole thing. If his alien lip twitching starts making your eyes bleed, just try to listen.
After a successful pro gun rally in Denver yesterday, I can’t stress enough how important it is to fucking show up. Don’t make excuses. Don’t bitch out. Show up.
WASHINGTON — Vice President Biden sparked a pro-firearm backlash Wednesday by vowing that his boss will use executive action — bypassing Congress — to put some gun control measures into effect quickly.
“The President is going to act. There are executive orders, there’s executive action that can be taken,” Biden told reporters in Washington. “We haven’t decided what that is yet.”
Here is the official Facebook page.
Hello patriots, it’s Eric from “Gun Control = More Crime” again. “Guns Across America” is going to take place Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at “high noon.” This is going to be a peaceful picketing protest against ANY, AND ALL future gun legislation. This is our chance to reach out to our elected officials, and tell them NO NEW GUN LAWS! “Guns Across America” is being tailored to happen in every states capital city, at their capital building. The theory behind doing this event on a Saturday, is most conservative gun owners work a typical Monday through Friday job. I’m hoping for a massive response by doing this on a weekend.
Now for the tricky part. I’m going to need one volunteer, to organize each capital city. I’ll be taking care of Texas (Austin), and I have Oklahoma and Montana filled. That means I have 47 states left to go. If you’re interested in volunteering to organize your capital cities event, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll be discussing important issues with each states volunteer. This includes making sure all your state laws are obeyed, publicity, media exposure, etc.
This is going to be a great success with your help. All you need to do is show up, and make your voice heard. If you’re state has legalized open carry / concealed carry, and you’re legal to do so, I encourage it. However, please make sure we’re all in compliance with state laws, as this event will be a reflection on all gun owners across America. All details and updates will occur on the page, “Gun Control = More Crime.” I look forward to making this a huge success, so please share this update.
Show up. Spread the word. Make this huge.
He has a habit of saying stuff that isn’t true, but that doesn’t mean he is not trying to get this done.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said Vice President Joe Biden “guaranteed” that President Obama will pass strict gun control legislation by the end of the month, according to the Boston Herald.
“He said, ‘Tommy, I guarantee you, we’ll get it done by the end of January,’” Menino said. “They’re going to get it done.”
But don’t worry my pro 2nd Amendment friends. Anonymous is on our side.
A state task force studying gun access laws for people with mental illnesses has proposed authorizing police to seize firearms from individuals deemed a credible threat to themselves or others.
Such seizures, the panel said Wednesday, would take place after law enforcement “substantiated” reports from mental health providers, social workers and other professionals.
Forget for a moment that we would have politicians dictating what is and what is not a “credible threat”. Maryland residents must register all firearms with the State. Which means that when the local government is, they know exactly where to come to round up all the legal firearms. Not the ones floating around with serial numbers removed, or stuffed inside some Roca jacket. No, just the ones belonging to law abiding gun owners.
With the prospect of gun registration coming to a federal law near you, it’s time to start making some hard decisions.
I did this last year and frankly it got us a lot of hits so I’m going to try again this year.
Cabela’s online flyer, including a $280 Ruger 10/22 Takedown.
Bass pro’s online flyer, including a $150 H&R Pardner Protector. Though as one internet warrior points out, the rest of their gun prices are shitty.
Sportsman’s Warehouse, and a $230 Remington 870.
DSG Arms is running a good deal on Magpul Pmags.
Sportsman’s Guide isn’t having anything special, aside from a $10 off coupon with the coupon code SG1277.
Brownells is doing some decent sales that they are cleverly calling “Black Rifle Friday“, along with a 12 Days of Christmas sale that starts on Dec. 3rd. One of their deals includes YHM Free Float handguards for $90.
A Black Friday sale for mall ninjas at www.TacticalAssaultGearstore.com.
More tactical faggotry HERE.
Grabagun.com is advertising that they will be having a sale, but they are tight lipped on what the deals will be.
Sports Authority is having a few deals, like a $280 Savage Axis rifle.
Midway is doing its “8 Days of Deals” starting today the 19th through the 26th. Deals include exploding targets and a Lyman case tumbler for $41.
Woodbury’s Outfitters is having a shitload of gun sales, including $100 off all AR’s.
JSE Surplus does a great job with their Thanksgiving day sales. Check them out before all the good stuff gets sold.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is running a 20% and free shipping promotion TODAY ONLY and only online. But it almost looks like they jacked up their prices for the sale.
Dunhams Sports is running some good deals, but linking to them is tricky. You’re better off navigating to it yourself from their main page. They are selling the GSG-5 for $270 though, which is $100 less than anyone else and way below what they were selling for a couple years ago. They are also selling Cannon gun safes for good prices. In fact if you are lucky enough to live near a Dunhams, this really looks like the best place to be on Black Friday.
And finally, Centerfiresystems.com has started their 12 Deals of Christmas sale. Check back daily until December 10th.
Stay tuned, I may find more deals. Or you can share some of your internet with me by leaving a comment with a link to a good deal.
