Archives For MagPul

So in case you haven’t heard, Colorado is in the middle of a fight over our 2nd Amendment rights. Currently we are facing universal background checks, the end of campus carry, a fee for all background checks, and a limit on magazine size to 15 rounds.

Because of that last issue, popular magazine and AR parts manufacturer Magpul has threatened to leave the state if the bill passes. I applaud them for their commitment to the Constitution, and I support their decision to leave. Principles are important. Especially right now.

Over the last 72 hours since I have become aware of Magpul’s position, I have been working as hard as I can to raise awareness about what Colorado is facing. And I am using Magpul’s situation to highlight it, seeing as Magpul is probably the most well known manufacturer of AR magazines. It’s working, almost. People are aware now. Facebook is flooded with people commenting about it and directly to Magpul on their Facebook page.

I’m going to try to get through this without swearing in the hopes that those of you with narrow minds who can’t handle a swear word will be able to hear me.

Here’s the problem. Almost everyone who is voicing their support for Magpul’s position is missing the point. This fight in Colorado is not over, and we need support. Magpul does not want to leave. They like it here in Colorado. They picked this state because of it’s reputation for respecting freedom, including it’s firearm laws. Coloradan’s do not want them to leave. We love them here. We love their product, their jobs, their tax revenue and their support of local industry.

But everyone who hears about what is going on is saying, “We’d love to have you come to *fill in the blank state*.” Now I get it. Now I understand the frustration from gun owners in California and New York. They feel abandoned.

Friends, the answer is not to welcome a company like Magpul to your state when their convictions force them to leave their own. The answer is to fight the politicians tooth and nail so that companies like Magpul don’t need to leave in the first place.

Colorado is not a liberal state. We are a state that values freedom. We are a state that honors individual liberty. We are a gun loving state. We are an intelligent state. The people of Colorado are not demanding gun control. These bills are being railroaded through our state government despite the loud, vehement, constant and passionate resistance of it’s citizens. Colorado citizens are fighting this legislation and we are fighting hard. GFE has organized two rallies on the state capitol building. We are making phone calls, writing letters, attending hearings, speaking directly to the politicians, supporting companies like Magpul, getting on TV, getting into local newspapers, giving away free magazines, attending the House votes. We are doing everything we can.

But what are our pro gun friends outside of the state doing? Writing us off. I am shaking my head in anger in frustration when I read Facebook comments like these:

This is not how we win. This is not how we take the fight to the enemy. This is not how we preserve our rights. This, my friends, is how we lose.

If you would have told me 6 months ago that we would be facing this legislation in Colorado, I would not have believed you. I would have laughed in your face. People in states like Wyoming, Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee will laugh in your face now if you tell them that in the near future, they will be in the line of fire. This is how it happens, one state at a time.

The powers at work here are not native to this state. There is influence coming from outside our square borders. MAIG has hired a lobbying firm to push these laws through our legislature. Joe Biden personally called some Democrats in the Colorado House on Friday, and I’m sure they weren’t talking about hunting with shotguns.

I’m pleading with you, do not give up the fight here in Colorado just because it isn’t your state. We need your help and support. This is our hour of need. Make your words more than just empty rhetoric and actually do something to stand up for all of our rights. Just because a state faces these kinds of attacks doesn’t mean the people of that state are pussies who don’t care. Pick up the phone, get on Facebook, get on Twitter, contact representatives, spread the word, bring attention to these issues. If you’re not willing to fight now, I doubt your resolve to fight when the battle comes to your state.

United we stand.

As Colorado state legislators debate HB 13-1224 – a bill that would ban magazines over 15 rounds – an issue arose around Magpul and its base of operations here in Colorado.

Magpul has vowed to leave the state if a magazine restriction is passed in any form.

To appease Magpul, and presumably to keep it’s reported 600 jobs and $85 million in taxable revenue in the state, Representative Joe Salazar announced an amendment to HB 13-1224, L.0.14, that would specifically exempt Magpul from this legislation in as far as they would still be welcome to manufacture and sell these black high capacity ammunition clip death machines to civilians, just not to Coloradans.

When House Republicans pointed out the obvious and blatant hypocrisy of this amendment, House Democrat Rhonda Fields insisted that the amendment was intended to allow Magpul to continue to sell these magazines to law enforcement and to the military because “the military protects the company…Country” (check the record, her slip of the tongue was real and darkly accurate).

Never mind that while she was saying this, a copy of the amendment was projected on the wall for all to see and plainly listed that Magpul could manufacture their magazines and sell their magazines to anyone who was legal to buy including civilians, outside of Colorado of course.

So Magpul, Colorado wants your money, but not your product. GunsForEveryone respects your position. We hate to see you leave the state, but stand behind your decision to do so if this travesty passes, which it very may well.

UPDATE: HB 13-1224 passed an initial voice vote on the House floor on Friday afternoon. It will now get a formal vote on Monday, February 18th.

Please use the email list below to write every rep and senator to let them know that this bill is not only unconstitutional, it is also a poorly written bill that makes Colorado look foolish.

You can copy and paste this list right into your recipient line.

It only took me about 9 months to finish this video, so part 2 should be ready sometime in 2015, assuming we’re all still alive in 2015.

Don’t judge me.

Um….I don’t even…well just watch it.

I like Magupl and everything, but this shit is just taking mall ninja to the next level, appealing to the Sheepdog crowd with all that nonsense about “We’ll make you an asset instead of a liablity.” Bitch please.

How do you build the most kickass tactical shotgun on the planet?

Proven Platform? Check

Innovative Recoil Reduction System? Check

Semi-Auto? Check

Miles Of Rails? Check

Testical Rousing Name? Check

Just introduced at the NRA Convention in Pittsburgh is the…..get ready….The Elite Tactical Advantage Devastator Shotgun. A name so nice, you have to say it twice. No, nevermind, it’s way too fucking long.

Just look at this thing. It’s a mall ninja’s dream. It’s got it all…….and way, way, way more.

The Devastator is a straightforward solution, it starts as a standard Remington 1100 or 11-87 shotgun (2-3/4″ or 3″ magnum chamber.) When we are done every critical part is either reworked, upgraded or replaced with high-end components that we manufacture ourselves to exacting tolerances in America.

We chose the Remington platform because it is proven, and prolific. Agencies can take existing armory stockpiles and upgrade them to fearsome devices designed for one purpose, “To control and end confrontations with certainty with minimal additional training.”

Complete Devastator with factory Remington Special Purpose finish includes:

11-87 shotgun, 18-1/2″ Barrel

Your choice of 12″ or 14″ Rhino Rail (Top Rail)
Bobcat Forward grip (Bottom Rail)
RRS Recoil System
S2AR Adapter & Hogue model 15000 grip
G-Hinge Folding Stock System
MAGPUL CTR Stock & Buffer tube
Tactical Bolt Charging Handle
High Visibility / Low Friction Follower
Extra Power Spring Set (Hammer, Trigger, Magazine Tube)

AK-47 wielding anti-hero

Now I’m sure that there are legit users of this kind of weapon who feel like this is a real tactical breakthrough for the industry. I mean, who wouldn’t want a serious recoil reduction system when they are blasting 00bk at perps like this guy?

But I can see this getting a little out of hand. With 44 inches of picatinny rail space, OD green on black, the omnipresent collapseable stock, and a dynamic sling system, this is every 20 year old YouTube hero’s wet dream.

You can slap virtually every flashlight, laser, BUIS, bipod, fore grip, sling and glass ever manufactured in the history of earth on this thing.

Oh and what’s this? A fucking grenade launcher.

For those times when 7 rounds of 000bk just aint enough

Try contain yourself boys. Price? $1999. For that kind of money, it better put out.

Looking around for “training” videos for when SHTF, I re-encountered Magpul’s Art Of The Tactical Carbine. Magpul has six DVDs as part of their Magpul Dynamics series, and all are badass.

We all know the zombies are coming and coming soon, so it is crucial to be prepared, and Magpul does an excellent job at showing us how to win – So you too can be winning like Charlie Sheen. If you are looking to actually attend the class, that is also an option with Magpul – Click Here for more info.

Watch this.
